Learning Objectives - At the completion of this program, the learner will be able to:
Objective 1: Describe how lack of adherence to recommended evidence-based guidelines affects the prevention of central line infections.
Objective 2: Recognize 10 of the recommended guidelines from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for the prevention of intravascular catheter-related infections.
Objective 3: Understand the importance of educating healthcare workers as part of a multifaceted quality improvement program to reduce the rate of central venous catheter–related infection.
