Program Title and Description
This session will review: 1) The “core” HF management and additional HF strategies when symptoms continue despite core therapies. 2) The emerging role of pharmacogenomics, including terminology and new pharmacogenomic strategies by discussing polymorphisms related to angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor and beta blocker therapies and biomarkers related to hydralazine/nitrate therapy. 3) A focus on newer drug and device therapies and how personalization of therapies to individual clinical situations might offer the best hope of improved outcomes.
