A Community of Exceptional Nurses
AABB (formerly known as American Association of Blood Banks) is an international association of organizations and individuals involved in transfusion medicine as well as cellular and related biological therapies. The membership — from all 50 states and 80 countries — is comprised of nearly 2,000 institutions, including hospital and community blood centers, transfusion and transplantation services, and laboratories, and more than 8,000 individuals, including physicians, scientists, administrators, medical technologists, blood donor recruiters and quality control and assurance professionals. AABB member facilities are responsible for collecting virtually all of the U.S. blood supply and transfusing more than 80 percent.
