The AACN Information Center
is staffed by a team dedicated to
providing assistance and information
to conference attendees.
We field questions about everything
from Scantron forms to shuttle buses, and if we don't
know the answers, rest assured we will dig until we find them. The AACN Information
Center is located centrally in the Resource Center.
AACN Bookstore
Sponsored by Mary Washington
Hospital/MediCorp Health System
Browse a wide selection of resources
specific to advanced practice, certification, clinical practice, ethics, evidence-based
practice, progressive care and education. You'll
find protocols, CDs, DVDs, CD-ROMs, clinical publications, pocket reference cards,
instructor manuals and recognition products. Make your trip home from Atlanta easier
by ordering AACN products online using the computers in the Bookstore. Your order
will be shipped directly to your home or office, leaving more room in your suitcase
for souvenirs.
Audio Resources for Sale
If you were unable to attend a
session or just want to bring a piece of NTI home to a colleague, visit the National
Nursing Network booth to purchase audio resources of most sessions.
Cyber Café & Internet
Message Center
Sponsored by Monster
Check your e-mail, communicate
with those at home or the office, or get up-to-the-minute NTI information at this
Internet and e-mail communications center.
Mail Home Service
AACN offers participants the convenience
of shipping materials directly home or to the office through the Mail Home Service.
For a nominal shipping fee, lighten your load for the return trip home. You can
also participate in the Box Art Contest to be eligible to win prizes.
Childcare
Children are not permitted in education
sessions. Please check with your hotel concierge for childcare options. AACN does
not encourage children's attendance at the Critical Care
Exposition. If necessary, children will be admitted only when accompanied by a badge-wearing
NTI participant. For the safety of all attendees and exhibitors, strollers are not
permitted in the Exhibit Hall, and participants should monitor their child's activities at all times.

To Your Health
Out of consideration for the health
of all staff, participants, exhibitors and vendors, the National Teaching Institute
is strictly a nonsmoking meeting. Smoking is not permitted in the convention center,
meeting rooms, Exhibit Hall or at AACN-sponsored events. Please adhere to all posted
signs and smoke only in designated areas.
Dressing for Comfort
Casual business attire is appropriate
for the conference, and a pair (or two) of comfortable shoes is highly recommended.
You may wish to bring a jacket or sweater, as meeting room temperatures tend to
fluctuate. Outdoor temperatures in Atlanta in May range from the mid 70's to the low 80's.
Accommodations
Reservation requests are subject
to availability, and rates listed are in effect until March 28.
Changes and new reservations made after that date are subject to prevailing hotel
rates and restrictions. Cancellations must be made directly with the AACN Housing
Bureau at least seven days prior to arrival for a full refund. Some hotels impose
a fee for early checkout. This policy and the fee are at the discretion of the hotel.
To avoid penalty, notify your hotel of changes when checking in. All hotels require
a deposit of one night's room rate plus 15% city and state
tax for each room reserved. Payment may be made by credit card or by check deposit
in U.S. funds (payable to AACN Housing Bureau). Your hotel assignment will be confirmed
within 10 business days.
Arriving by Air
AACN has negotiated special reduced-rate
airfares for all NTI attendees, speakers and exhibitors, as well as their traveling
companions. For your convenience, reservations may be booked either with your local
travel agent or by calling the airlines directly. Be sure to provide your booking
agent with the appropriate file number (below) to qualify for the discounted airfare.
Book your ticket at least 60 days prior to your departure date and you may qualify
for an additional discount.
