A Community of Exceptional Nurses
Preventing healthcare-associated infections — such as ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) — remains a critical priority for hospitals and other healthcare facilities due to associated increases in mortality and morbidity, prolonged hospital stays and higher cost of care. However, when it comes to VAP, clinical practice is now shifting from a narrow focus on this specific condition to the much broader universe of ventilator-associated events (VAEs).
This webinar will explore the spectrum of and criteria for VAEs, the current shift in perspective from VAP to VAE and how best to reduce negative patient outcomes — including evidence-based interventions and best practice prevention strategies, plus potential implementation barriers and how to overcome them.
At the end of the session, participants will be able to:
Suzi Burns, RN, MSN, RRT, ACNP, CCRN, FAAN, FCCM, FAANP
