Certificants Honored at the NTI Certification Celebration Dinner
The Certification Celebration dinner at NTI 2007 in Atlanta recognized nurses who have completed the certification process and celebrated their achievements in the field of nursing. DawnMarie Kotsonis, who hosted the event, praised participants as part of an “elite community of nurses because you go the extra mile.”
The event included dinner, prizes from Tiffany’s, Macy’s and Coach, and excellent company. Members of the AACN Certification Corporation Board of Directors said the annual dinner is an opportunity for participants to network with their colleagues.
Recognized at the event were several award recipients, including the Medical Center of Plano, Texas, where 42 percent of nurses are certified. The hospital received the AACN Value of Certification Award. Another award recipient, the Heart of the Piedmont Chapter, Archdale, N.C., received the Chapter Value of Certification Award. In addition, participants were recognized for the number of years they had maintained their certification.
The event was sponsored by Hill-Rom, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Atrium Medical Corporation.
Do You Qualify for CCRN-E Status?
If your CCRN expired due to not meeting direct bedside hours because you were working exclusively or primarily in the remote ICU (virtual ICU) environment, you have until Dec. 31, 2007 to apply through the Review and Appeals Process to be reinstated under the CCRN-E status. For more information, refer to the CCRN-E Renewal Handbook at
