Renewal by Synergy CERPs integrates the AACN Synergy Model for Patient Care into AACN Certification Corporation renewal programs. The changes are aimed at making certification and renewal requirements more consistent in framework and emphasis, and better preparing certified nurses for the future.
Although the number of CERPs required (100 in a 3-year period) will not change, category names, definitions and weight required is different.
Effective January 1, 2010 all renewing CCRNs and PCCNs will need to renew by Synergy CERPs or renew by exam.
