Mary Stahl, RN, MSN, ACNS-BC, CCNS-CMC, CCRN, AACN President
At last year’s NTI, AACN President Mary Stahl announced her theme, Together. Stronger. Bolder. This year, Mary will share insights and best practices she’s learned during her presidential year. A cardiovascular clinical nurse specialist in the cardiology progressive care unit at Mid America Heart Institute, Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City, Mo., since 1995, she oversees heart failure management and cardiac transplantation nursing care.

Robyn Benincasa has made an art form of extreme performance by competing and winning at the highest levels of sports and business. Robyn inspires people to do amazing things through her unforgettable presentations. She has taught all over the world about “Building World-Class Teams” and the skills necessary for dynamic role shifting and true teamwork.
 
 

Wednesday Keynote

Kathryn E. Roberts, RN, CNS, MSN, CCRN, CCNS, AACN President-Elect
AACN President-Elect Kathryn E. Roberts declares the new theme, setting the inspirational tone for the upcoming year and unveiling the art to illuminate its meaning. Roberts — a clinical nurse specialist in the pediatric ICU at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia since 1998 — has a long career with the hospital, beginning as a nurse extern in 1990 and then working as a staff nurse in the cardiac step-down, cardiac intensive care and pediatric intensive care units.

Clinical Research Supported by Philips Healthcare
A premier scientist in the field of pediatric critical care nursing, Dr. Martha A.Q. Curley will discuss how stronger, bolder science can be generated through mentorship and collegial support. She is a professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, Philadelphia, and a nurse scientist in critical care and cardiovascular nursing at Children’s Hospital Boston. Her current work includes investigating better ways to manage sedation for children on lifesaving ventilators as the principal investigator for RESTORE, a five-year multisite clinical trial.
