ExpoEd is the new name for AACN's widely respected program of continuing education
activities offered by companies and organizations exhibiting at the National Teaching
Institute & Critical Care Exposition®.
ExpoEd learning activities:
- Adhere to the high quality standards of AACN's educational plan and help to
address a company or organization's educational goals by providing access to a
knowledgeable audience.
- Apply concepts and principles related to patient care issues and clinical practice.
- May use a wide range of formats that include lectures, video presentations,
computer-assisted self-learning and hands-on demonstrations.
- May contain educational concepts that address application of specific products
and services.
- Are no longer than 30 minutes. Lecture presentations include a 10-minute question
and answer period.
- Take place in a company/organization's assigned exhibit space or in other space
approved for education by AACN.
- Award Continuing Education Recognition Points (CERPs) instead of Continuing
Nursing Education (CNE) credit.
What are CERPs?
CERPs are recognized by the AACN Certification Corporation, AACN's credentialing arm,
to encompass a wide spectrum of continuing education activities performed by nurses
in high acuity and critical care. State boards of nursing and other certification
organizations also may recognize CERPs as meeting continuing education requirements.
We recommend that you consult with these credentialing organizations before submitting
CERPs to fulfill continuing education requirements.
A Continuing Education Recognition Point equals 60 minutes of continuing education. By
awarding CERPs instead of traditional Continuing Nursing Education credit, ExpoEd
sessions can offer a wider range of learning activities than generally qualify for
CNE credit.
