AACN/CCRN Ambassador

There's No One Quite Like You -- Your Role as an AACN Ambassador

As an Ambassador, you are the premier representative of AACN in your workplace and in your community. No one else can do what you do; your role is vital because you introduce our protocols and standards to your colleagues, promote the value of certification and nursing in your workplace, use your knowledge and skills to provide excellent care to your patients and support to their families, and help recruit new association members. You are uniquely qualified to help AACN shape the future of acute and critical care nursing. Here's how:

Your Role

  • Respond to our "Calls to Action" e-mails and help us share messages crucial to AACN's vision, such as annual elections, NTI and healthy work environments standards.
  • Help your co-workers, colleagues and managers understand the value of AACN membership.
  • Become a resource for those who are interested in certification.
  • Post AACN promotional materials in your unit and in other areas of your hospital where nurses will see them.
  • Be available to answer questions about AACN.
  • Read about AACN activities, such as local chapter events, in association publications and discuss them with nurses who may be interested in attending.

Our Responsibilities

  • Share AACN Calls to Action with you through periodic e-mails. Because you're an Ambassador, you'll be the first to know -- and the first to spread the word to your colleagues!
  • Give you five Category C or O CERPS per year (up to 15 per renewal cycle).
  • Send you AACN Critical Care Newsline, our electronic weekly newsletter packed with news and information important to acute and critical care nurses.
  • Designate a section of our Web site just for Ambassadors. Go to the Online Resource Library to find out what's available.
  • Provide free access to AACN resources.

If you have questions, suggestions or feedback, please e-mail ambassadors@aacn.org or call Brenda Guite, Ambassador staff liaison, at (800) 899-2226, ext. 338.
