Company Description:
| Radi Medical Systems AB develops, manufactures, markets, and sells medical devices in the field of interventional cardiology. The US subsidiary, Radi Medical Systems Inc, is focused on two key areas: Intravascular Sensors (pressure measurement) and Hemostasis Management (products to stop bleeding from interventional cardiology procedures). In collaboration with physicians and institutions around the world, Radi Medical Systems is committed to meeting the needs of healthcare professionals and their patients through innovation, technology and expertise. In addition, Radi offers value-added support through education and training. Headquartered in Uppsala, Sweden, the company has a total of 200 employees worldwide with subsidiaries in Australia, Germany, Japan, Switzerland, Netherlands, United Kingdom and in the United States.

Product Descriptions:
FemoStop®plus
FemoStop®plus Femoral Compression System provides a comfortable alternative to manual pressure and other external methods of achieving femoral artery hemostasis. The FemoStop® dome applies a focused controlled pressure to the puncture site minimizing the pain and discomfort associated with excessive pressure. The dome is made of a soft latex-free material occupying the smallest area necessary to achieve hemostasis yet minimizing the risk of venous congestion or pain associated with ligament and nerve compression. |
 |
The use of FemoStop® provides the clinician with a hands-free method of achieving hemostasis and simultaneously minimizing exposure to blood. The dome provides clear visibility of the puncture site and surrounding area, unlike sandbags and bulky pressure dressings that hide the puncture site.
Manual pressure is extremely time-consuming. FemoStop® offers a hands-free answer in order to perform other tasks such as patient assessments, charts and care of multiple patients FemoStop® also allows the clinician to take care of emergencies such as vaso-vagal response, a complication associated with removal of the sheath or catheter. FemoStop® Femoral Compression System provides a cost-effective and efficient method of achieving hemostasis.

FemoStop®HD
FemoStop®HD Femoral Compression System new dual-action hemostasis management system, provides both deep hemostasis at the arteriotomy and topical hemostasis at the skin incision site.
|
 |
FemoStop®HD is a unique solution that combines two distinct devices and addresses both deep and topical hemostasis simultaneously: FemoStop®plus provides deep hemostasis, while the new sterile, occlusive dressing facilitates blood clotting at the skin incision site after diagnostic and interventional procedures. The dressing is impregnated with m-doc™: a micro-dispersed calcium salt of oxidized cellulose that acts as a hemostatic agent to accelerate clotting time at the skin surface. The active substance m-doc has been used as a hemostatic agent for over 40 years. The m-doc micro-particles can absorb several times their own weight. When the m-doc particles are in contact with blood, the substance stimulates the initiation of the intrinsic pathway, leading to rapid initiation of the clotting cascade.
Nearly 4 million cardiology catheterizations are performed annually in the U.S. It is generally acknowledged that the real source of hemostasis is achieved by deep compression. Because it delivers dual-action hemostasis management, FemoStop®HD can be used for the majority of patients, including high risk and difficult-to-treat patients. The addition of the new hemostatic dressing promotes topical control of bleeding from surgical incisions and superficial wounds.
FemoStop®HD is also very comfortable for patients, allowing them to sit up at a 30-degree angle, use a bedpan, and move their legs from side to side without impacting hemostasis efficiency.

RadiStop®
RadiStop® Radial Compression System is a lightweight and disposable solution for hemostasis management of the radial artery. The new radial compression system is designed to be an effective, affordable, and easy-to-use solution for the more than 100,000 radial artery catheterization procedures performed annually in the United States. |
 |
The new system consists of three components: a support plate that fits either the right or left hand; a sterile compressive pad that compresses only the radial artery; and Velcro® straps that provide easy placement of the support plate and effective positioning of the compressive pad allowing consistent compression. The design ensures that venous flow is not obstructed, thereby increasing patient comfort over longer compression times while supporting the hand in a flexed position. In addition to providing for patient comfort-, RadiStop® allows for easy access for the procedure.
RadiStop® is easy to use pre-, post- and during procedure while being comfortable for the patients. The patient can also wear the support plate home keeping the hand immobilized to promote faster healing.
Physiologic Intravascular Sensors, PressureWire® System:
With a product portfolio consisting of the intravascular PressureWire® Sensor and RadiAnalyzer®Xpress user interface, Radi Medical Systems is a technology leader in interventional cardiology.
The measurement of intravascular blood pressure is used in the scientifically recognized FFR (Fractional Flow Reserve) methodology. FFR is the ratio between pre and post stenotic pressure at maximum hyperemia.
The benefits of Radi's PressureWire® Sensor and RadiAnalyzer®Xpress technologies include:
|
- A compact, light and very easy to use system for fast and reliable FFR measurements
- New 3 step setup process
Radi's .014" PressureWire® Sensor guidewire is available in 175 cm and 300 cm lengths, and the FFR is displayed on RadiAnalyzer®Xpress. Additional options include the ability to measure CFR (Coronary Flow Reserve). A printer is available to provide hard copy records for patient charts and RADIView® allows for FFR and CFR measurements to be downloaded to your PC for review and future analysis.
