Evidence-based practice (EBP) is the expectation of every health care professional. In our fast moving workplace, sifting through all the information being disseminated and evaluating it, based on the care being provided at the bedside, can be challenging and time consuming. Igniting and sustaining the passion for EBP is challenging for all clinicians, but the clinical nurse leader (CNL) and advanced practice nurse (APN) can recognize “the things you can do that are good” to support a climate for success. Some health care institutions have the resources within their environment, but many of our hospitals do not have the resources of major university teaching centers.
