Case Studies in Hemodynamics
Learning ObjectivesAt the completion of this program, you will be able to:
- Evaluate the effect of falling hemoglobin and decreased cardiac output on oxygen delivery to the tissues.
- Correlate physical signs and symptoms, diagnostic studies, and hemodynamic alterations to develop a plan of care for the patient in shock.
- Integrate oxygen delivery and oxygen consumption parameters into clinical decision making and selection of therapeutic modalities.
Continuing Education Information
Total Contact Hours:
This interactive session presents advanced hemodynamic case studies for analysis. A collaborative approach in meeting mutually derived patient outcomes is emphasized. Integration of the physical signs and symptoms, diagnostic studies (laboratory and technologic), and hemodynamic parameters assist the participant in selecting nursing diagnoses and interventions appropriate for each case study.
