The purpose of this session is to highlight critical care research studies published during the past year that exemplify AACN’s priorities and advance the practice of critical care nursing. This presentation highlights the unique attributes, results, and practice implications of selected studies in areas such as septic shock management, glycemic control, less-invasive and noninvasive hemodynamic monitoring, and how to integrate these parameters into practice, patient-safety initiatives (e.g., infection prevention), tailored temperature management, and the long-term effects of critical illness.
