North Shore LIJ Health System
North Shore-LIJ is the country's second largest non-profit, secular healthcare system, and one of the nation’s leading clinically integrated healthcare networks. Since our formation in 1997 through the merger of the North Shore Health System and Long Island Jewish Medical Center, we have grown to become a family of more than 42,000 dedicated team members.
Our health system includes 15 hospitals, long-term care facilities, a renowned medical research institute, three trauma centers, five home health agencies, a hospice network, dozens of outpatient centers and numerous physician private practices throughout the region. As the largest integrated healthcare system in metropolitan New York, we serve diverse communities comprised of more than
7 million people throughout Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island, Brooklyn and Long Island.
The proud recipient of the National Quality Forum’s 2010 National Quality Healthcare Award—an honor presented annually to an organization for delivering outstanding quality-driven healthcare—North Shore-LIJ is truly transforming care for the communities we serve.
