This year's
Certification Celebration has moved to a new night and will include a new feature
to get your party started earlier. At 5:45 p.m., a cash bar will open to help kick
off your certification celebration before the dinner festivities begin. You can
also earn CEs by viewing
the posters during this time of relaxation and conversation. As always, the dinner
event will celebrate ACNPs,
CCRNs, CCNSs, PCCNs, CMCs and CSCs. CCRN
alumni may also attend. The program will include recognition activities and prize
drawings. Casual attire
is encouraged. Tickets may be purchased with NTI registration.

Corporation
Certification is a mark of excellence
that validates a nurse's advanced clinical knowledge and
tangibly demonstrates a commitment to patients and families, employers and colleagues.
Paper-and-pencil administration of the CCNS (Adult, Neonatal, Pediatric), CCRN (Adult,
Neonatal, Pediatric), PCCN specialty exams and CMC and CSC subspecialty exams will
be offered. Preregistration using a special NTI exam application is required for
all exams. NTI exam applications are available at
www.certcorp.org or by calling 800/899-2226.
Payment of exam fees must accompany
the NTI exam application, due at AACN Certification Corporation by April 3, 2007.
Exam candidates are not required to attend the NTI conference, but if you choose
to do both, separate registration and payment must be submitted. Confirmation of
exam registration will arrive separately from NTI materials, approximately one week
prior to the conference.
Certified Nurses Improve Outcomes
of Cardiac Surgery Patients

This session reviews research that
links the relationship of improved patient outcomes to the credentials of the nurse
providing the care. Speakers will share quality improvement process findings from
the HCA Cardiovascular Centers of Excellence Program validating the assumption that
the education and certification of nursing staff improves patient outcomes.

Best Practice Roundtable

Join the AACN Certification Corporation
board of directors and staff for this interactive new session designed to facilitate
sharing of best practices in creating a culture of certification. This is a time
for participants to learn from one another about what strategies have been most
successful in moving organizations and individuals to excellence through nurse certification.
Board and staff members will also participate, sharing what they have learned from
chapters, ambassadors and institutions nationwide that have led successful efforts
to rally support for certification and, as a result, have seen an increase in the
number of certified nurses in their sphere of influence. If you have implemented
a program that has shown promising results, please join us and share your experience
with others who have done the same.

to catch a quiet moment between sessions and enjoy light refreshments and conversation

stop in and speak with representatives of AACN Certification Corporation. Information
sessions will be scheduled throughout the week to provide updates on our specialty
and subspecialty nursing certifications and Renewal by CERPs programs.
