Ilia M. Rolόn, Consumer Representative

Ilia M. Rolόn serves a three-year term as consumer representative on the AACN Certification Corporation board of directors from July 1, 2014, to June 30, 2017.
Rolόn has more than 20 years of experience working to identify and address unmet needs among the poor and medically underserved in Southern California.
She currently is director of strategic development at CalOptima, the entity that administers nearly all Medi-Cal benefits in Orange County, California, where she specializes in countywide initiatives such as local implementation of the Affordable Care Act.
Rolόn joined CalOptima in 2009 as a senior project manager and then served as manager of long-term care integration and manager of strategic operations before assuming her current position in 2013.
Upon earning a Master of Public Health from San Diego State University, Rolón began a nine-year consulting engagement with the Children and Families Commission of Orange County (Proposition 10).
There she spearheaded the development of a countywide, hospital-based screening and early intervention program for at-risk mothers of newborns. She also implemented a capacity-building funding program to increase access to pediatric primary and specialty care through community clinics.
Rolón, who also has a Bachelor of Science in health science from California State University, Long Beach, began her career as a health educator at the Huntington Beach Community Clinic and then transitioned to the development and management of health promotion programs through community-based organizations, such as the American Lung Association and Latino Health Access.
