Lisa Falcón, MSN, RN, TCRN, NE-BC, serves a three-year term as a director on the AACN Certification Corporation board of directors from July 1, 2014, through June 30, 2017. She serves a second one-year term as secretary/treasurer from July 1, 2016, through June 30, 2017.
Falcón is the director of trauma and injury prevention at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey, a position she has held since 2011. She has also been adjunct faculty, clinical nursing instructor, at Brookdale Community Hospital, Lincroft, New Jersey, since 2007. She was previously clinical nurse educator, surgical services, from 2006-2011. Falcón has over 20 years of experience in surgical critical care and trauma as a clinical nurse, clinical educator and nurse leader.
With a focus on improving systems for patients, nurses and the healthcare team through communication, relationships and education, she has presented locally and nationally on a wide variety of trauma, critical care and leadership topics.
An AACN member since 1994, Falcón served on the AACN Nominating Committee in 2008-2009 and the Continuing Education Review Panel from 2003-2014. She also sits on the Manuscript Review Panel for Critical Care Nurse, and the Continuing Education Review Panel. An active member of ACCN’s Jersey Shoreline Chapter, she was president from 2012-2014.
Falcón has a Master of Science in nursing education from Monmouth University in Long Branch, New Jersey, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey.
