October 1, 1998, is the deadline to submit
applications for three grants available through AACN. To obtain application

Following is information about each of these grants:
Sigma Theta Tau-AACN Critical Care Grant
Up to $10,000 is awarded each year to support a study relevant to critical care
nursing practice.
The principal investigator must be an RN. Members of AACN or Sigma Theta Tau
will be given preference. The proposed study may be used to meet the
requirements of an academic degree.
This award is cosponsored by AACN and Sigma Theta International.
Proposals must be received by October 1, 1998.
AACN Clinical Practice Grant
Up to $6000 is awarded for a study that focuses on an AACN clinical research
priority.
The principal investigator must be an RN and a member of AACN. The proposed
study may be used to meet the requirements of an academic degree.
Proposals must be received by October 1, 1998.
AACN Data-Driven Clinical Practice Grant
Six awards of up to $1000 each are given for studies that focus on stimulating
the use of patient-focused data and/or previously generated research findings to
develop, implement, and evaluate changes in acute or critical care nursing
practice.
The principal investigators must be RNs and members of AACN. They may not be
conducting a current study funded by another AACN research grant. Proposed
studies may be used to meet requirements of an academic degree.
Proposals must be received by October 1, 1998.
