VA's 'Let’s Get Certified' Campaign — Extended for Phase V

Background

To capitalize on the momentum of the past four years, the VA’s “Let’s Get Certified” campaign has been extended for an additional year (Phase V), which will run from June 1, 2012, through May 31, 2013. The VA's campaign targets VA and DoD nurses (U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force and Public Health Corps).

Because the VA values specialty certified nurses, the campaign is designed to increase the number of certified nurses which they believe will, in turn, enhance patient care, improve recruitment and retention of nurses and demonstrate learning organizations.

AACN and AACN Certification Corporation are proud to support the VA's campaign during Phase V by continuing to offer discounts on certification exams, membership, select review courses, books, practice exams and certification recognition products. We look forward to a successful campaign, increasing the percentage of certified acute and critical care VA and DoD nurses.

VA and DoD nurses qualify for CCRN, CCRN-E, PCCN, CMC, CSC, ACNPC and CCNS certification exam discounts for computer-based testing at an approved testing center. Additionally, they will receive one-year complimentary AACN membership — which includes unlimited free online CE, two journals and special rates for all AACN products and services including the National Teaching Institute (NTI). They also have an option of two additional years of discounted AACN membership, after the first complimentary year of membership.

How to Access AACN Discounts

For exam discounts:

• Download an exam application from the applicable exam handbook on the Documents and Handbooks page and print/complete the application and honor statement for the AACN certification exam.
• Download the 3-page AACN discount coupon found on the VA’s ONS intranet.
• Complete the AACN discount coupon and mail or fax with the AACN exam application and payment to AACN (applications must be mailed or faxed; online registration for exams will not capture the discount).

For eligible product discounts:

• Phone, fax or mail product orders to AACN and include the required code for the campaign discount (found on the AACN discount coupon available on the VA’s ONS intranet and DoD intranets).
