A Community of Exceptional Nurses
Live webinar begins April 8. Register now.
AACN is pleased to offer a live, Web-based review course for nurses seeking PCCN certification, including those who provide care to acutely ill adult patients in progressive care settings such as telemetry, step-down, high acuity medical-surgical and direct observation units.
This comprehensive review course fully aligns with the new PCCN test plan, helping prospective PCCN candidates better prepare for success by reaffirming clinical knowledge and removing uncertainty about what to expect. Join colleagues in the AACN community to prepare for the exam or just brush up on clinical core content.
Comprised of seven live webinar sessions, the course covers all test-related topic areas, including cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurologic, renal, gastrointestinal, hematology, endocrine, multisystem, behavioral considerations, professional caring practice and the AACN Synergy Model for Patient Care, plus test-taking tips.
Each 2.5-hour session features topic-specific content, review questions, live polling and text chat with the presenter.
The course offers a total of 15.1 contact hours of continuing nursing education credit and also includes handouts with supporting information (a link to handouts will be provided in your confirmation email; handouts will be available at least a week prior to the first session).
The review course is suitable for both individual and group participation. Internet access is required.
You’ll recognize our presenter, Carol Rauen, RN, MS, CCNS, CCRN, PCCN, CEN, as an award-winning national speaker and educator widely recognized for her content expertise.
Carol Rauen is an independent clinical nurse specialist and education consultant. Throughout her 30-plus years in acute and critical care nursing, she has helped hundreds of nurses become certified.
In addition to presenting CCRN and PCCN certification reviews, Rauen conducts medical-surgical and emergency nurse review courses across the country. Her clinical background primarily encompasses cardiac, trauma and emergency nursing.
She frequently presents on these topics, as well as hematology, physiology and pharmacology. Widely published in both books and journals, Rauen also serves as editor for the new Certification Review column in Critical Care Nurse.
Prior to becoming an independent CNS, Rauen worked at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. There she served as a CNS and nurse manager at the medical center and as assistant professor at the university’s School of Nursing.
Her experience also includes teaching at AACN’s annual National Teaching Institute and Critical Care Exposition (NTI) since 1992, as well as teaching in both the PCCN and CCRN preconference reviews.
For your convenience, all seven sessions are scheduled for the same time slot on each course date, listed below. Register now.
AACN’s live PCCN Review Course uses AACN WebEx, a virtual classroom webinar platform. All content is viewed through your computer, so you must have Internet access.
