A Community of Exceptional Nurses
Cosponsored by the US Department of Health and Human Services and the Critical Care Societies Collaborative, this national awards program will annually recognize teams of critical care professionals and healthcare institutions that achieve excellence and notable, sustained improvements in eliminating healthcare-associated infections, specifically infections in critical care.
For the 2011 and 2012 program cycles, awards emphasize success related to eliminating central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSI) and ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP). For the 2013 program cycle, catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI) will be added.
