AACN Membership Types and Rates

We haven’t raised membership dues for more than a decade, partly because of the loyal support of our longtime, dedicated members. Join our professional family and you’ll enjoy the value-added benefits of membership.

We tailored our dues structure to accommodate a range of membership types:

Active Membership – $78 Annually

Any registered nurse licensed in the United States who is interested in critical care nursing and is in good standing with the licensing agency of his/her state or territory is eligible for active membership. Nurses employed in research, administration, teaching, medical-surgical, telemetry or progressive care units, home health or any healthcare agency are also eligible.

Affiliate Membership – $78 Annually

Any LVN or LPN, non-nurse professional or student in these areas is eligible, as is any healthcare consumer or member of the corporate or political community.

Affiliate members may not vote, hold office or serve on committees at either the national or chapter level.

Student Membership – $52 Annually

Any U.S. citizen (or a non-citizen of the U.S. who resides within the boundaries of the U.S.) who is a student in an accredited, professional nursing program and is currently not licensed as a registered nurse is eligible. Your membership includes all AACN benefits.

Student members may not vote, hold office or serve on committees at either the national or chapter level.

Emeritus Membership – $59 Annually

Any member who has maintained active AACN membership for a period of five years or more and is over the age of 55 is eligible.

International Digital-Only Membership – $78 Annually

Available to professional nurses who have RN licensure in a country other than the United States. Your membership includes all AACN benefits; however, all benefits are delivered digitally (via email or Web), including your member card.

International members may not hold office or serve on committees at the national or chapter level.

Retired/Disabled Membership – $52 Annually

Any member who has ceased his/her active practice in nursing by reason of permanent retirement or permanent disability.
