September 2012 Ambassador Update

Hello. I hope you had a peaceful summer, and September finds you rested and recharged. Thank you for responding to the satisfaction survey. We are in the process of compiling the results and will report them to you shortly. In the meantime, please let us know if there is anything you need as you work with us to promote excellence in critical care and within the AACN community. Have a great month!

Warm regards,
Melinda

Encourage Clinicians and Researchers to Apply for AACN Grants
Invite clinicians and researchers at your facility to apply for AACN grants, which range from $1,500 to $50,000. They fund priority projects that address gaps in clinical research and support the translation of these findings to bedside nurses. The application period has begun and applications must be submitted online by Nov. 1.

Submit Poster Abstracts for NTI 2013 – Deadline Friday Sept. 14
It’s time to submit poster abstracts for the 2013 National Teaching Institute & Critical Care Exposition (NTI 2013) — to be held Saturday, May 18, to Thursday, May 23, 2013, in Boston — in three categories: Research, Evidence-based Solutions and Chapter Best Practice. We hope you will familiarize yourself with the benefits behind being a poster presenter and share these with your colleagues. All those interested in submitting should read Poster Abstract Submission Guidelines first. Act quickly, though: the deadline is Friday, Sept. 14, 2012.

NTI 2012 Attendees: Have You Claimed Your AACN PEARL?
AACN introduced at NTI 2012 the first-ever AACN PEARL, an online collection of evidence-based tools and resources to simplify sharing of new learning. Available exclusively to NTI 2012 attendees, “AACN PEARL: Implementing the ABCDE Bundle at the Bedside” brings the NTI education and experience right to the bedside. Developed by expert nurse educators, the first AACN PEARL — which stands for Practice, Evidence, Application, Resources and Leadership — builds on NTI sessions about the ABCDE Bundle. Encourage NTI 2012 attendees to access AACN PEARL at www.aacn.org/PEARL using their NTI password and login.
