Linda Bay, DNP, RN, ACNS-BC, CCRN-K, PCCN-K, serves a three-year term on the AACN Certification Corporation board of directors from July 1, 2020, through June 30, 2023, after completing a one-year term as a director from July 1, 2019, through June 30, 2020. She served on the AACN board from July 1, 2012, through June 30, 2015, including a one-year term as treasurer from July 1, 2013, through June 30, 2014, and a concurrent term on the AACN Certification Corporation board from July 1, 2014, through June 30, 2015.

Bay currently teaches leadership to direct entry MSN students at Alverno College, Milwaukee, and is adjunct faculty at the University of Wisconsin–Platteville, where she teaches organizational change leadership. Bay, who spent most of her career with the Veterans Administration, retired as a nurse consultant with the VA Office of Inspector General. Before then, she worked at Clement J. Zablocki Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Milwaukee, where her many roles included ICU staff nurse, nurse educator and clinical nurse specialist.

An AACN ambassador, Bay has been a member of AACN and the Greater Milwaukee Area Chapter (GMAC) since 1994. She previously served as GMAC president and also chapter advisor for Region 8 (Michigan, Wisconsin).

Additional affiliations include membership in the American Nurses Association, where she served on the Advisory Committee for Addressing Moral Distress. She is also a member of the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists, Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses and Sigma.

At Alverno College, Bay earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice, focusing on joy in work for RNs in acute and critical care areas. She also received the college’s Master of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
