Activity Summary

Critical care nurses are motivated to make a change in nursing practice but may not know where to start. Nurses may need assistance getting their fellow nurses involved to get a project off the ground. Do you have fellow nurses that want to get involved but need guidance to get a project off the ground? Join us in this session to review the differences among research, evidence-based practice and quality improvement projects. Descriptions of methods to identify project topics and types of projects are also provided. In addition, beneficial resources are highlighted to help nurses remove barriers and facilitate project development and completion.

  • Differentiate between research, evidence-based practice and quality improvement projects.
  • Identify at least three questions to ask to help determine which type of project is most appropriate for a topic.
  • Identify at least three resources in each project type to facilitate project development and completion.
