So the tough decision has been made to transfer your critically ill patient. You can take a breath right? Not yet! This session identifies some of the unique challenges the flight crew faces from the moment of dispatch through the interaction with the sending facility staff and finally in flight. We explore the line where aviation and nursing meet in this foundational to intermediate session.

  • Prepare the patient for transport and for the arrival of the flight crew.
  • Assist the flight crew in preparing the patient for transport.
  • Understand the unique challenges of transport medicine.
