Required reading for all learners: Implicit Bias impacts patient outcomes

Statistics reveal that up to 88% of sex trafficking victims have come in contact with a healthcare provider at some point during their captivity; however, they are often overlooked due to lack of education/awareness of the provider. This statistic is at the heart of this session aimed at properly educating and empowering professionals to appropriately respond to victims of human trafficking.

Objectives

  • Explain the red flags of human trafficking.
  • Recognize human trafficking using protocol implementation.
  • Report human trafficking to law enforcement and others within hospital setting.
