Required reading for all learners: Implicit Bias impacts patient outcomes

Statistics reveal that up to 88% of sex trafficking victims have come in contact with a healthcare provider at some point during their captivity; however, they are often overlooked due to lack of education/awareness of the provider. This statistic is at the heart of this session aimed at properly educating and empowering professionals to appropriately respond to victims of human trafficking.

Objectives

Explain the red flags of human trafficking.
Recognize human trafficking using protocol implementation.
Report human trafficking to law enforcement and others within hospital setting.
