Program Overview
Application Process
The HWE National Collaborative is an education, mentorship and co-learning program that facilitates implementation of the HWE Standards among a national network of hospitals working together.
24 months
Estimated 135 units in 45 hospitals – three units per hospital, with one critical care unit required
Spring 2024 (exact date TBD)
Interdisciplinary participation across the continuum of care within each hospital (reflective of a typical patient’s wellness journey)
Curriculum based on implementation science methodology and evidence-based strategies to support sustainable integration of AACN’s HWE Standards into unit culture
Hybrid program delivery including both virtual and in-person learning and collaboration
13 healthcare professionals per hospital team:
Periodic data collection to assess progress, including Healthy Work Environment Assessment Tool surveys.
Largely subsidized by AACN Innovation Grant funding – $1,500 per unit ($4,500 total for a three-unit hospital team)
Application for participation in the HWE National Collaborative is online only. We recommend that prospective participants submit their application early to ensure space availability.
