Kristina Brooks, DNP, MBOE, RN, CCRN, AACC, LSSBB, serves a three-year term as a director on the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) Board of Directors from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2027.

Brooks serves as assistant vice president of quality at West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown, overseeing quality, patient safety, patient experience and infection control. As a nurse leader with a strong background in the CVICU and cardiac care, she has focused on staff engagement and process and quality improvement. She has been active in assisting and supporting pursuit of the Beacon Award for Excellence at her organization and continues to work with staff and leaders to carry out Healthy Work Environment initiatives.

An AACN ambassador, Brooks is an executive board member of AACN’s North Central West Virginia Chapter. She is also an associate of the American College of Cardiology, where she is a member of the CV Management Council. She is a member of several national and state nursing organizations.

Brooks earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice and a Master of Business Operational Excellence from The Ohio State University, Columbus. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and an associate’s degree in nursing at Ohio University, Athens.
