Lisa Ayers

Lisa Ayers, DNP, MSN, BSN, RN, CCRN-CSC-CMC, serves a three-year term as a director on the AACN Certification Corporation Board of Directors from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2029.

Ayers is a staff RN in the Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento, California.

Her volunteer AACN work includes being an AACN ambassador, a member of the NTI Program Planning Committee and a reviewer for the Beacon Award of Excellence. She has also served on many certification committees, because she is passionate about certification. Additional affiliations include the Hospice of Humboldt Board of Directors and the American Heart Association. She also received The Daisy Award for Excellence.

Ayers earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice, a Master of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Capella University in Minneapolis.

In free time, Ayers says she enjoys “traveling, reading, calligraphy and writing letters.” She has also attended NTI for 27 consecutive years – and counting!
