Lisa-Mae Williams, PhD, RN, CPAHA, serves a three-year term as a director on the AACN Certification Corporation Board of Directors from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2029.

Williams is chief nursing officer at Intercept Telehealth, Weston, Florida. As a nurse executive and tele-critical care leader, she is focused on advancing virtual nursing and telehealth-enabled models of care to improve patient outcomes, workforce capacity and quality in acute and critical care settings. She integrates clinical operations, academic scholarships and national collaboration to design scalable, evidence-based telehealth solutions.

An AACN member since 2003, Williams has served as the AACN liaison to the Society of Critical Care Medicine since 2023, and volunteer chair of the AACN Tele-critical Care Consensus Update Task Force since 2025. She is a past president of the Greater Miami Area Chapter (2011-2012).

Williams was lead author of “Healthy Work Environment Standards in Tele-Critical Care Nursing,” in AACN Advanced Critical Care, 2023, and “Tele-ICU Nursing Interventions to Prevent Failure to Rescue: A Qualitative Interpretive Study and Framework,” in American Journal of Critical Care, 2019.

Williams earned a PhD in Nursing at Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston.

She says, “I love Marvel movies. A standing tradition is for me and my niece and nephew to see all the Marvel movies together, since they were 8; they are 22 now and we haven’t missed one!”
