Project Goals/Objectives
- To improve patient and family communication at the bedside
- To improve patient and family satisfaction
- To improve nurse-to-nurse accountability and consistency of care
Project Outcomes
- Reduced CVICU average length of stay (LOS) 0.07 day
- Reduced CICU average LOS 0.34 day
- These outcomes resulted in actual quarterly savings of $541,765,* with a project annual fiscal impact of $2.1 million.
Other factors may have contributed to decreased length of stay over this time period.
