Project Goals/Objectives

  1. To implement the Care and Communication Bundle from Improving Palliative Care in the ICU initiative (IPAL-ICU)
  2. To improve communication with patients and families
  3. To improve patient and family satisfaction

Project Outcomes

  1. Increased collaboration with the Palliative Care team
  2. Increased staff conversations around identifying a surrogate decision maker
  3. Incorporated a newly identified need into the project: to clarify terminology (e.g. medical power of attorney vs. legal next of kin).
