Project Goals/Objectives
- To implement the Care and Communication Bundle from Improving Palliative Care in the ICU initiative (IPAL-ICU)
- To improve communication with patients and families
- To improve patient and family satisfaction
Project Outcomes
- Increased collaboration with the Palliative Care team
- Increased staff conversations around identifying a surrogate decision maker
- Incorporated a newly identified need into the project: to clarify terminology (e.g. medical power of attorney vs. legal next of kin).
