Project Goals/Objectives

  1. To decrease mortality related to mechanical ventilation
  2. To decrease the incidence of ventilator-associated events
  3. To decrease ventilator days
  4. To decrease length of stay

Project Outcomes

  1. Decreased mortality of MICU patients with mechanical ventilation 57 percent
  2. Decreased the number of ventilator days 33 percent
  3. These outcomes resulted in a projected annual fiscal impact of $2,070,000.
