Project Goals/Objectives
- To decrease mortality related to mechanical ventilation
- To decrease the incidence of ventilator-associated events
- To decrease ventilator days
- To decrease length of stay
Project Outcomes
- Decreased mortality of MICU patients with mechanical ventilation 57 percent
- Decreased the number of ventilator days 33 percent
- These outcomes resulted in a projected annual fiscal impact of $2,070,000.
