Project Goals/Objectives
- To decrease the incidence of device-related pressure ulcers (PUs) in the PICU
- To increase staff compliance with patient skin care
- To increase patient/family satisfaction
- To promote family involvement in measures that help reduce device-related PUs and PUs in general
Project Outcomes
- Decreased incidence of PUs 80 percent
- Eliminated stage 3 or greater PUs
- Reduced incidence of device-related PUs to zero
- These outcomes resulted in a projected annual fiscal impact of $518,160.
