Project Goals/Objectives

  1. Engage staff in using proper safe patient handling and mobility equipment 100 percent of the time
  2. Increase employee confidence level of safe patient handling and mobility equipment 5 percent in six months
  3. Eliminate barriers and identify strategies to promote safe patient handling
  4. Decrease fall rate 3 percent

Project Outcomes

  1. Increased employees' confidence level with lift equipment
  2. Reduced fall rate by ten falls as compared to previous year
  3. Decreased employee injuries since project implementation
  4. Created a successful grant proposal for purchasing an additional cart
  5. These outcomes resulted in an estimated fiscal impact of $131,350.
