Project Goals/Objectives
- To reduce hospital-acquired pressure ulcers (HAPUs) reported in the critical care unit's monthly prevalence study 20 percent between 2013 and 2014
- To identify community-acquired pressure ulcers on admission and improve documentation by adhering to the Main Line Health documentation policy
Project Outcomes
- Increased staff engagement through the introduction of wound photography
- Enhanced pressure ulcer prevention initiatives through collaboration between CSI Academy team and dermal defense
- Reduced HAPU rates 14 percent from beginning to end of the project
- These outcomes resulted in a projected annual fiscal impact of $906,780.
