Project Goals/Objectives

  1. To reduce hospital-acquired pressure ulcers (HAPUs) reported in the critical care unit's monthly prevalence study 20 percent between 2013 and 2014
  2. To identify community-acquired pressure ulcers on admission and improve documentation by adhering to the Main Line Health documentation policy

Project Outcomes

  1. Increased staff engagement through the introduction of wound photography
  2. Enhanced pressure ulcer prevention initiatives through collaboration between CSI Academy team and dermal defense
  3. Reduced HAPU rates 14 percent from beginning to end of the project
  4. These outcomes resulted in a projected annual fiscal impact of $906,780.
