Project Goals/Objectives
- To increase mobility in ventilated medical ICU patients
- To decrease patient ventilator days
- To increase patient and family satisfaction
- To change the culture of mobilizing patients in the ICU
Project Outcomes
- Decreased average number of ventilator days 0.44 day
- Mobilized 47 percent of intubated and non-intubated patients
- Surveys showed that bedside nurses felt more comfortable mobilizing ICU patients after Increase bedside nurse comfort with mobilizing ICU patients
- These outcomes resulted in a projected annual fiscal impact of $342,876.
