Project Goals/Objectives
- To improve staff communication with patients/families, as evidenced by responses on a parent questionnaire and by NRC Picker question: How often did the ICU nurses explain things in a way you could understand?
- To increase family participation and understanding of plan of care and daily rounds
Project Outcomes
- Decreased average length of stay 0.5 day
- Increased patient satisfaction scores to more than 90 percent
- These outcomes resulted in a projected annual fiscal impact of $4,154,500.
