Project Goals/Objectives

  1. To improve staff communication with patients/families, as evidenced by responses on a parent questionnaire and by NRC Picker question: How often did the ICU nurses explain things in a way you could understand?
  2. To increase family participation and understanding of plan of care and daily rounds

Project Outcomes

  1. Decreased average length of stay 0.5 day
  2. Increased patient satisfaction scores to more than 90 percent
  3. These outcomes resulted in a projected annual fiscal impact of $4,154,500.
