Project Goals/Objectives
- To increase accountability for Patient & Family Centered Care (PFCC)
- To promote genuine engagement in team nursing
- To provide consistent, autonomous nursing assignments
- To increase nursing satisfaction, as measured by NDNQI
- To increased patient and family satisfaction
- To decrease the number of nurses per patient
- To decrease intra-unit patient movement
Project Outcomes
- Decreased the number of nurses per patient 53 percent in six months
- Decreased intra-unit patient movement 93 percent in six months
- Decreased length of stay (LOS) 0.8 days (or 555 hospital days) in 10 months
- These outcomes resulted in a projected annual fiscal impact of $562,603.
