Project Goals/Objectives

  1. To increase accountability for Patient & Family Centered Care (PFCC)
  2. To promote genuine engagement in team nursing
  3. To provide consistent, autonomous nursing assignments
  4. To increase nursing satisfaction, as measured by NDNQI
  5. To increased patient and family satisfaction
  6. To decrease the number of nurses per patient
  7. To decrease intra-unit patient movement

Project Outcomes

  1. Decreased the number of nurses per patient 53 percent in six months
  2. Decreased intra-unit patient movement 93 percent in six months
  3. Decreased length of stay (LOS) 0.8 days (or 555 hospital days) in 10 months
  4. These outcomes resulted in a projected annual fiscal impact of $562,603.
