Time 8:00 AM - 9:15 AM PT

Session Summary

Disrupting the lethal triad of coagulopathy, acidosis and hypoperfusion in patients with trauma-induced hemorrhagic shock demands precise and timely interventions. Unfortunately, many trauma centers overlook critical components to do so. This session empowers APRNs and bedside nurses with actionable strategies to optimize damage control resuscitation through permissive hypotension, balanced transfusion, calcium replacement and proactive temperature control. Using real-world trauma data and interactive case scenarios, attendees gain tools to close protocol gaps and enhance survival outcomes in critically injured patients. Pharmacology content = 25%

Objectives

  • Apply permissive hypotension targets to preserve clot integrity during early trauma resuscitation.
  • Describe calcium administration protocols in MTP workflows to mitigate transfusion-induced hypocalcemia.
  • Identify active warming and core temperature monitoring to prevent hypothermia-related coagulopathy.
Topics Pharmacology, Trauma
Population Adult
Role APRN, Staff
