Session Summary

This interactive session emphasizes four key themes: 1) Practical take-home actions regarding sepsis prevention, recognition, pathogenesis and management; 2) Identifying whether a potential cure for sepsis is on the horizon; 3) Improving participant learning through engagement, which includes technologies such as AI, VR, computer-based platforms and audience participation; 4) The patient experience highlighted through participation with a sepsis survivor. Nurses are provided tangible ways to prevent and manage sepsis while also better understanding the patient experience. Pharmacology content = 15%

Objectives

  • Apply knowledge gained in the session to improve sepsis recognition and management.
  • Describe the impact of sepsis on surviving patients and their families.
  • Discuss the role of emerging therapies on the potential to cure sepsis.
