Session Summary

This mastery session is geared toward chapter members and leaders who want to gain an understanding of chapter operations and governance, including program approval, completing a contract, chapter finances, the process to apply for a Circle of Excellence award, how to engage members and students in our chapter and the impact social media has on chapters. After a brief introduction into AACN chapters and a presentation from the speakers, participants are invited to attend breakout table-talk sessions to ask questions of our presenters and share ideas with each other.

Objectives

  • Review chapter operations and governance.
  • Develop an understanding of the process for applying for chapter awards, chapter finance requirements and the program approval process.
  • Generate innovative discussions for increasing chapter membership, member engagement and the use of social media to promote events.
