Session Summary

This presentation takes the learner through a stepwise method in 12- lead ECG interpretation that assists them in identifying acute changes and coronary ischemia. The 12-step process starts with identifying the rhythm, rate and complexes, and uses a systematic approach in interpretation. The learners can practice their new skills by interpreting sample 12 lead ECGs.

  • Describe a systematic approach to interpret 12 lead ECGs and identifying acute changes.
  • Distinguish an area of infarction, injury or ischemia in acute coronary syndrome based on grouping the leads.
  • Demonstrate identification skills using example case studies of 12 lead ECG’s.
