Session Summary

Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) remains one of the most complex and challenging conditions in critical care, demanding timely, evidence-based action. This session empowers nurses with practical tools to recognize ARDS early, apply lung-protective strategies and lead collaborative care. Through practice-based case scenarios and interactive discussion, participants gain the confidence and clinical insight needed to turn knowledge into meaningful bedside impact.

Objectives

  • Apply evidence-based interventions to manage ARDS and improve outcomes for mechanically ventilated patients.
  • Describe the pathophysiologic principles that guide lung-protective strategies in ARDS care.
  • Explain the bedside nurse’s role in identifying ARDS and initiating timely, collaborative interventions.
