Session Summary

Brewing Knowledge delivers quick, bedside nursing education using a coffee-themed rolling cart. Each 5–10 minute session links coffee drinks to clinical topics (eg, espresso = tachycardia) and includes nurse feedback to tailor content. This innovative approach breaks time barriers, boosts engagement and supports professional growth. Learn how to bring this easy, effective microlearning model to your unit.

Objectives

  • Describe how microlearning, delivered during clinical workflow, improves access and engagement with staff education.
  • Explain how creative metaphors (eg, coffee-themed drawers) enhance knowledge retention and enthusiasm for learning.
  • Identify strategies to incorporate professional development resources and staff-driven feedback into informal bedside education.
