Session Summary

It’s natural to ask yourself why things are done a certain way—or to wonder if there might be a better way. If you have, then this session is for you. A team of clinical nurse specialists share their work in bridging the 17-year gap between literature and modeling evidence translation into bedside nursing practice. Eschewing redundant practices and replacing tradition with evidence empowers nurses to drive innovation and unlock their passion for clinical inquiry. Reinvigorating the landmark 2008 series dispelling historic nursing practices, this session explains the why behind common nursing practice myths and current best practice.

Objectives

  • Assess the research gap and current challenges in evolving practices.
  • Identify critical care literature behind nursing practice changes.
