Session Summary

Discover one progressive care unit’s approach to boosting morale and connection using compassionate communication rooted in AACN HWE data. This interactive session features hands-on tools like the 18-second empathy exercise, Yes, and… dialogue and art-based practices to reduce burnout and build trust. Walk away with practical, evidence-informed strategies to strengthen team culture and create a more resilient, compassionate work environment.

Objectives

  • Analyze AACN HWE survey data to identify unit needs and trends in communication, collaboration and staff well-being.
  • Apply compassionate communication techniques such as active listening and empathy through simulated scenarios.
  • Prepare art-based empathy training to foster staff resilience, morale, and reduce burnout in clinical settings.
