Session Summary

Grassroots advocacy gives nurses the power to influence change beyond the bedside. In this session, participants learn what grassroots advocacy is, why it matters and practical steps they can take as individuals to make an impact. Led by a critical care nurse educator and workplace violence advocate, this session blends real-world experience with evidence-based strategies. Participants leave with tools to confidently use their voice for meaningful change.

Objectives

  • Define grassroots advocacy and distinguish it from traditional lobbying approaches.
  • Identify key components of effective grassroots advocacy, including goals, messaging and stakeholder engagement.
  • Apply a step-by-step framework to develop an individual advocacy action plan within their own practice or community.
